Department History
The Department of Paediatrics is one of the hospital's four major clinical departments, dedicated to the care of children and adolescents in Bauchi State and neighbouring regions. It also receives referrals from surrounding states. Beyond patient care, the department is actively involved in the training of postgraduate resident doctors, interns, medical students, and allied health professionals.
Clinical services are delivered through five specialized units operating across different paediatric sub-specialties, namely: Team A (Nephrology and Neurology), Team B (Cardiology, Respiratory and Infectious Diseases), Team C (Endocrinology-Metabolism, Haematology-Oncology and Gastroenterology-Nutrition), the Emergency Paediatrics Unit (EPU), and the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU).
